Development work on the access to urbanisation La Sirena in Benajarafe has led to protests by local residents and a demand that the work be stopped.
Residents complain that traffic has been stopped in one direction, unnecessarily so, and this means that traffic has to use the area near the church as a turning point. Residents and business owners believe that there is sufficient room to maintain two-way traffic.
Another complaint relates to the loss of parking spaces as a result of the €153,557 project, this being detrimental to the shops and restaurants in the area.
The residents will be making a written request to the Council to halt the current works and carry out a revision of the project
