The two major projects in Torrox financed under the First State Investment Plan, more commonly known as the Plan Zapatero, have both suffered long delays and will ultimately cost around €184,000 more than was anticipated.
Work on Plaza de la Constitución has suffered more than six months of delays and is €104,000 over budget, bringing the total cost to over one million euros. Work on the square is now expected to be finished at the end of May.
Work on the promenade at Ferrara Playa is set to coast an extra €80,000, bringing the total cost to €1.7 million. Although the work on Ferrara Playa is classified as completed, there are several items which have not been ‘finished’, such as part of the retaining wall.
