The Association of Merchants and Entrepreneurs in Vélez-Málaga (ACEV) has denounced a local street market operating in the municipality for the past few weeks and selling second-hand goods as being illegal.
ACEV state that any such market requires a municipal permit and the support of the Commission of Street vendors.
The Councillor for Commerce, Francisco Ruiz, responded by saying that the Council has initiated a case, through the Administrative Police, against the owner of the market, even though the market is held on private land.
