Two people have been arrested an another one charged in connection with a series of robberies in Nerja following an operation codenamed ‘Ladera’.
The two detainees, a 40 year old Algerian, initials N.O. and who is in Spain illegally, and a 63 year old Spaniard, initials J.A.T.G., both have numerous prior arrests and convictions.
Police raided the home of one of the detainees and seized, amongst other things, mobile phones, a large hammer, binoculars and various tools used for breaking into houses.
The gang would watch their potential victims through binoculars before forcing entry in the premises and removing valuables. They were also involved in the counterfeiting of various documents and permits. They have so far been credited with around eight robberies in Nerja.
