The Rolling Stones have achieved their first number one UK album in 16 years with a re-released version of Exile on Main Street.
The album contains a couple of new songs not on the original version, including Plundered My Soul and Dancing in the Light, as well as alternative versions of some of the original ditties.
The album Exile on Main Street, written during drug-fuelled sessions at a French château in 1972, was initially panned by critics but, over time, their opinions changed quite drastically.
Part of the success could be due to the numerous reports on the ‘château days’ appearing in the media at the moment.
