A total of 44 illegal immigrants arrived in Motril late on Monday night after their boat was intercepted off the coast of Granada.
The boat, originating from the Moroccan port of Nador, was detected by the Servicio Integrado de Vigilancia Exterior (SIVE) and members of the Maritime Rescue Service from Almeria were sent to intercept the vessel.
The immigrants arrived in the port of Motril at around 23:15 on Monday night where members of the Red Cross were on hand to offer assistance if required.
