Pending complaints and other potentially problematic items notwithstanding, five companies have submitted bids for the contract to furnish the Nerja Museum, two fewer than during the original, subsequently cancelled tender process.
- Expociencia SL – 1,356,328.55 euros
- Grupo Vitel SA – 1,141,792.17 euros
- Ingenia Qed – 1,392,000 euros
- Manterola – 1,650,141.91 euros
- Playmedia – 1,395,480 euros
The mayor, José Alberto Armijo, noted that the highest bid is €1,650,141.91 and the loan secured by the Nerja Caves Foundation was €2 million, suggesting that the loan was intended for other purposes in addition to the furnishing contract.
The Mayor also believes that the loan, and therefore the debt, would not have been necessary if the Council, Junta de Andalucia, Ministry of Culture and all areas of the PSOE had been involved in the project.
