At the last full Council meeting, the IU leader/member, Manuel Velero, remarked that he had not yet visited the new museum and it was arranged that various councillors would do so on Monday morning.
At 09:00 on Monday morning, Manuel Velero and other councillors, including José Miguel García, Inocencia Quintero, Angélica Portillo and Jonathan Méndez duly turned up to inspect the new museum premises.
Slight problem, though. No-one from the Nerja Caves Foundation turned up with a key to let them in. All those left standing there were highly critical of the manager of the Nerja Caves Foundation for not arranging for someone to turn up with the keys.
The PP spokesman, José Miguel García, pointed out that the museum was built on land provided by the Council and the Council is also a member of the Nerja Caves Foundation. Both he and IU spokesman Manuel Velero stated that the role of president of the Nerja Caves Foundation should lie with the Mayor of Nerja.
The power struggle continues.
