As the President of the Nerja Caves Foundation Hilario López Luna made the announcement about the upcoming 51st Nerja Caves Festival, there were persistent questions about the allegations relating to administrative irregularities with the equipping of the Nerja Museum.
Despite wanting to focus on the matter in hand, namely the Nerja Caves Festival, Hilario López Luna was forced to make a short statement in which she categorically denied that there were any irregularities in the tender process.
The manager of the Nerja Caves Foundation, Ángel Ramírez, also stated that everything had been done according to law and that the provisional contract to equip the museum would be awarded in the coming weeks to one of the five companies who submitted bids.
The Mayor of Nerja, José Alberto Armijo, stated that the law was interpretable but his 15 years as Mayor has been characterised by politics carried out to the letter of the law as a matter of protection and that there were things with the museum contract that were not good. He cited the fact that the loan was agreed and approved with the Unicaja bank but actually signed with Cajamar.
This one looks like going the full distance.
