Seven companies have so far expressed an interest in bidding for the CajaSur bank which will be auctioned off as a complete unit rather than being broken down into smaller units.
The Bank of Spain intervened to take control of CajaSur on May 22nd 2010. The Banco de Inversión Nomura will be conducting the auction.
Once all the interested parties have registered their intention to participate in the auction, they will receive full and comprehensive details relating to CajaSur. At this stage, nothing is binding. Once the companies have received all the details relating to CajaSur they will be able to present their ‘formal’ bid to Nomura.
Those who have expressed an interest in CajaSur are Unicaja, Ibercaja, Cajasol, BBK, Banco Sabadell, BBVA and the Portuguese Caixa Geral.
