A strike yesterday by French air traffic controllers resulted in the cancellation of 79 of the 286 scheduled flights between Spain and France.
The strike began at 19:00 yesterday, Thursday June 24th, and ended at o7:00 this morning.
Numerous other flights were diverted through Spanish airspace and this led to congestion and the imposition of restrictions, the knock-on effect being that many passengers have been experiencing delays with their flights.
Delays were also experienced in several other European countries as the result of the strike action by the French workers.
