The Mountain Rescue Service (SEREIM) of the Guardia Civil in Granada has rescued two climbers who were injured in a fall in the Corral del Veleta area of the Sierra Nevada mountains.
The two climbers spent several hours in an isolated area waiting to be rescued before a helicopter managed to gain access to the area.
One of the climbers suffered a serious back injury and was flown to the Traumatology hospital in Granada in an air ambulance. The second climber, who had suffered a damaged knee, was taken to hospital by ambulance.
