The Nerja Athletics Club came away with 21 medals from the Andalucia Youth Championships held at the San Fernando stadium in Cádiz.
There were 10 golds, 5 silver and 6 bronze medals and Nerja finished top of the medals table.
The golds were for:
- Women’s 4 x100 relay (Ivison-Blakeman-Bejines-Soto)
- Sergio Sanz in the 200 metres
- Maribel Pérez in the 100 metres
- Samanta Blakeman in the 400 metres
- Rebeca Gazzard in the high jump
- Eva Soto in the long jump
- Inés Ivison in the pole vault
- Carolina Sánchez for the javelin, discus and hammer
The silver medals went to:
- Antonio González in the discus
- Ángel Antequera in the hammer
- Julia Campra in the 1500 metres
- Samanta Blakeman in the 200 metres
- Eva Soto in the triple jump
There were bronze medals for:
- Men’s 4×100 relay (Sanz-Dieguez-Gonzalez-Benitez)
- Gabriel Sáenz in the 800 metres
- Antonio González in the pole vault
- Candela Guijarro in the polevault
- Blanca Velilla in the pole vault
- Inés Ivison in the triple jump
The next target for these athletes is success in the Spanish Championships for this category, these being held in Nerja next weekend.
