Unless there are any late developments, Metro workers in Madrid are set for more industrial action on Wednesday and Friday of this week. This time, though, there could be adherence, in some fashion, to the required minimum service agreement.
There has apparently been some progress in talks between the Unions and employers but not on the question of a proposed 1.5% pay reduction for Metro workers as part of the general austerity measures designed to alleviate the current financial crisis.
The Unions suggest spending cuts in other areas rather than in the salaries of workers.
