Three women have died during the past few days in various parts of the country as the result of domestic violence.
Police in Gran Canaria have arrested a man, a nurse at Hospital Insular, in connection with the death of his girlfriend, an ATS at the hospital.
The girlfriend had been feeling sick for a long time and died on July 11th. An autopsy revealed that she had been poisoned over a long period of time and her boyfriend has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
In Cuenca, a 44 year old Moroccan national has been arrested in connection with the death of his wife, also a Moroccan national, in the town of Villanueva de la Jara.
The man was travelling in a car with his son when it was involved in a collision with another vehicle on the N-310 (Ciudad Real-Valencia) in El Picazo (Cuenca). The man, his son and two people in the other vehicle were injured in the accident and were taken to the Hospital General in Albacete.
The husband, who was the subject of a restraining order, was arrested on suspicion of murder. The boy has been taken into care.
Police in Zaragoza are searching for the man responsible for the stabbing to death of an Ecuadorian woman in a block of apartments in Zaragoza. The main suspect is a man who was serving as a doorman at a nearby building and was allegedly living with the woman.
Although several lines of inquiry are being pursued, the case is being treated as a domestic violence incident.
