The four-party ((IU, PSA, PIU, PP) government of Torrox has voted to stop the proposed transfer of land near the Barranco del Puerto to the Junta de Andalucia for the the construction of 152 VPO (subsidised) houses.
The move comes after the Junta de Andalucia appealed to the Court of Contentious Administration regarding the valuation of the plot of land. The Junta considers the price tag of €845,000 not to be in accordance with the law.
The VPO project has been bogged down with problems since 2007.
