The 3,500 residents of Sierra de Yeguas have been without drinking water for the whole of July, a situation likely to continue for another two months.
In the meantime, the residents will be supplied with water brought in by truck twice per week.
The problem with the water supply is two fold, an increase in demand at the beginning of July and pollution of the water supply with high concentrations of nitrates.
The Council is repairing and enlarging the local water reservoir and a new, larger pipe is being installed to resolve the problem for the future.
