Work on restoring the 19th Century Eagle Aquaduct to its former glory has started, part of the structure now being covered in scaffolding.
The work is going to take about ten months (Spanish months) and is budgeted at €513,000, with 30% being funded by the Council from grants received under the Plan for Sustainable Tourism in the Axarquia and 70% being funded by the Ministry of Tourism.
The aquaduct was owned by Larios until 2005 when it was then given, free of charge, to the municipality.
