Taxi drivers in Málaga have called off a planned series of strikes which were due to take place in the next few days after the Council agreed to a permanent Local Police presence at the airport.
One of the main gripes of the 1,400 Málaga taxi drivers is the lack of proper controls at several points in the city, including the airport, to prevent ‘intrusion’ by non-Málaga taxis and privateers.
Another complaint by the drivers relates to the issuing of fines when they park on yellow lines or in bus lanes to pick up or drop off passengers. This ‘problem’ has yet to be resolved.
