ASAJA, the Association of Young Farmers, has reported that a number of thefts of avocados have taken place during the past week from farms in Vélez-Málaga, in some cases up to 4,000 kilos of the fruit. The avocados are very green as they were not due to be harvested until December. Police are looking for a gang of thieves with severe stomach cramps.
