A 55 year old woman was shot dead yesterday on the streets of Madrid following a ‘traffic discussion’.
The incident occurred in calle de Francisco Villaespesa in the Ciudad Lineal district of the capital. The woman was engaged in a discussion about traffic with a 76 year old man when the man went to his car and took out a gun.
He then shot the woman, identified as Maria Luisa SM, twice, once in the chest and once in the neck. Efforts to revive her were unsuccessful.
The man, identified as 76 year old Angel OS, fled the scene in his car but thanks to numerous witness reports he was later apprehended by police in the Ronda de Valencia.
The husband of the victim, who was with his wife at the time of the incident, had to be treated for an anxiety attack.
