The Council has unanimously approved a proposal to amend parts of the PGOU to faciltate the construction of the proposed new Health Centre.
The Council purchased the plots of land for the construction of the new facility from local landowners and began the urbanisation of the area in readiness.
The land is classified as being for use by educational facilities and the Ministry of Public Works and Housing suggested validating the plots to cover health facilities. The Council has done this but the Junta de Andalucia say that the PGOU needs to be adapted in order to make sure that everything relating to the project is legal.
The necessary change to the PGOU should occur in September and then all that remains is for the Department of Health to submit the definitive draft project for the actual construction of the Health Centre.
The project has so far take seven years of paperwork and has undergone three changes of location.
