The Marine Service of the Guardia Civil intercepted two boats off the coast of Granada early on Monday morning with a total of 45 passengers on board, all of whom had apparently inadvertently forgotten to bring any form of documentation with them on their trip.
The first arrivals were eight Moroccan adults, intercepted five miles south of Cabo Sacratif. Red Cross officials in Motril provided the eight passengers with food, clothing and health care before handing them over to the National Police.
The second boat to arrive contained 37 passengers and was spotted about 30 miles southeast of Motril after a warning was received from the Moroccan authorities.
