National Partido Popular leader Mariano Rajoy will be in El Morche, Torrox, today as part of the (long) run-up to the municipal elections in May 2011 and will be presenting a young, new candidate for the municipality.
Torrox has one PP councillor and three from the PIU (Plataforma de Independientes Unidos) and Rajoy is looking to unify the two lists with 33 year old lawyer Óscar Medina being presented as the new centre-right candidate.
Also in attendance will be Francisco Salado (Rincón de la Victoria), Francisco Delgado (Vélez-Málaga), Alberto Armijo (Nerja), Pilar Díaz (Algarrobo), Abdeslam Lucena (Benamocarra), Manuel Robles (Comares), Francisco Ruiz (Cútar) and José Luis Torres ( Cómpeta).
The Axarquia is seen as an important area for the Partido Popular.
