As from Wednesday September 1st 2010, the minimum age for driving a class AM motorcycle (up to 50cc) rises from 14 years to 15 years.
The measure was included in the General Regulation of Drivers which came into effect two years ago but was then the subject of a moratorium.
Manufacturers argued that such a move would affect sales and last May, the Committee on Road Safety proposed extending the moratorium. The DGT, however, believe that raising the age limit will help reduce the number of accidents involving such vehicles.
