The search is continuing for a small boat carrying 37 Moroccan immigrants which was reported adrift in the Alboran Sea on Saturday night.
A search of around 2,000 square miles of sea has so far proved fruitless and another plane, based in Valencia, has joined the search.
The boat apparently left Alhucemas on Saturday night. At around 03:00 on Sunday, a call was received stating that the vessel was adrift. The caller, who provided mobile phone numbers for some of those on board the boat, has been deemed reliable although the authorities have so far been unable to reach any of the numbers given.
The authorities have found no sign of any wreckage in Spanish waters and have asked the Moroccan authorities to carry out a search off the Moroccan coast.
