Four forest fires continue to burn in Valencia, two of them thought to have been started intentionally, although the blazes have now been stabilised.
The fires have so far damaged 2,500 hectares of land and have forced the evacuation of over one thousand people from their homes.
The active fires affect the municipalities of Rafelguaraf and Barxeta in the district of La Costera, the municipalities of Bocairent, Ontinyent and Agullent in the district of Vall d’Albaida, the town of Simat de la Valldigna in the district of La Safor and the municipality of Alfafara in Alicante.
Firefighters from Madrid, Cataluña, Castilla-La Mancha and Murcia have joined the effort to tackle the fires, working through the night to bring the fires under control.
