National Police officers in Sevilla have arrested a 30-year-old man in connection with the death of a 49-year-old American woman whose dismembered body was found in the rio Guadalquivir.
The woman was reported missing on September 4th and a search was launched. An investigation into the woman’s circle of friends led police to believe that 30-year-old A.G.S., a friend of the victim, could be somehow involved in a crime. His house was searched and sufficient evidence was found to suggest involvement and he was detained.
On Tuesday, a search of the rio Guadalquivir resulted in the discovery of the woman’s torso in a suitcase. A further search of the river led to the recovery of a head and an arm in a bag containing some of the woman’s personal effects.
