Two men have been arrested and charged in connection with the theft of almost two kilometres of copper cable in the Antequera region.
The thefts occurred at the beginning of this month with 1,600 metres of copper cable being stolen from an urbanisation in Fuente de Piedra and the rest from an industrial estate and urbanisation in Mollina.
One of the detainees, a 25-year-old from Mollina, has previous convictions for property theft.
During the investigation into the thefts, which lasted nine days, police also seized the car belonging to the detainees which was found to contain all the necessary paraphernalia for carrying out the robberies.
