A spokesman for the PP in Ronda, Bernardo Crespo, has expressed opposition to the proposed name for the square resulting from the demolition of the old Concepción barracks.
The name was, ostensibly, chosen by a panel of residents of Ronda, although the PP believe that the ruling PSOE was the driving force behind the decision.
The name chosen? Plaza Pablo Iglesias.
Pablo Iglesias, 1850 to 1925, was the founder of the Partido Socialista Obrero Español (PSOE) and the Unión General de Trabajadores (UGT).
The PP have suggested alternative names.
