The Superior Court of Justice of Madrid has considered an appeal by the Unified Association of Civil Guards (AUGC) against the decision by the Government Delegation in Madrid to ban a protest march scheduled for next Saturday and has ruled that the march can go ahead as planned.
The court ruling noted that ‘the prohibition exceeds the legal limit, violates a fundamental right and should be declared null and void.’
Following the ban of the march, in which the Guardia Civil were going to ask for working day comparable to that of the Police, the AUGC had convened an alternative event in the Madrid suburb of Rivas-Vaciamadrid.
