The Council, using students attending a gardening course, has begun a campaign to plant new trees and replace uprooted plants along the rio Chillar walkway between the old bridge and the mouth of the river.
Some vegetation has already begun to grow along the riverside and most of this will be kept.
The Councillor for the Environment, José Miguel Jimena, also reminds residents not to throw rubbish into the river and to clean up after their pets.
