Work on the new Tourist Office in Torre del Mar is running behind schedule and won’t now be finished until October according to the Councillor for Tourism, Javier Checa (GIPMTM).
The Councillor hopes that the new facility will be open for business before the end of the year. The four month completion period agreed with the contractor has already been and gone.
The new Tourist Office will be located in the XIX century building known as the Casa Baco, the building being shared with the Foreigners Department.
Casa Baco was obtained by Vélez-Málaga Council through a land swap and has been valued at one million euros.
The renovation project is costing €348,075, with the Council contributing €180,000, the Junta de Andalucia €100,000 and FOMIT €60,000.
