José Pérez, who was mayor of Torrox from 1992 to 1992 as an IU member, has announced that he will be running for mayor at the next elections as a PSA candidate.
After his first stint as an IU mayor, José Pérez disappeared from the political scene for a few years before returning in 2007 as leader of the PSA.
His party won three seats and, making a pact with the IU, helped prevent the PSOE from taking control of the municipality. He is currently the First Deputy Mayor and spokesman for the PSA.
At the next elections in May 2011, José Pérez will lead the PSA in a coalition with the PA.
