The painter Francisco Hernández, born in Melilla in 1932, has been admitted to the Hospital Comarcal in Vélez-Málaga after suffering heart failure.
Hernández was taken by ambulance to the hospital at around 20:15 on Tuesday evening and remained under observation until Wednesday afternoon.
He was then transferred to the Internal Medicine department where he remains. Hernández was due to attend the inauguration of his new exhibition ‘Nuevas Formas’ at Real Convento de Santiago in Vélez-Málaga on Thursday but this now seems unlikely.
His condition is described as ‘stable’.
