A six-year-old Rumanian girl died on Thursday morning after falling off some exercise apparatus in a park in calle Jubilado, Nijar.
The girl was apparently trying to use the equipment in the so-called ‘healthy environment’ when she fell, hitting her head on one of the supports for the apparatus.
After initial treatment at the Health Centre, the girl was transferred to the hospital in Torrecárdenas where, at 08:00 on Thursday, she died as a result of severe head trauma.
The exercise equipment, designed for use by adults, stands in front of a centre for the elderly and a building used for extracurricular activities. However, it is reported that the bolts holding the apparatus to the ground had been removed.
