The summer season is over on the Costa del Sol and plans are being made in the hotel industry for the winter, or ‘low season’, and more than normal are going to be closed.
Last year, traditional winter hotel closures reduced the number of available beds by around 20%. This year, however, it is expected that the bed loss will be around 37% as many more hotels decide to shut up shop until at least Easter.
The traditional winter break for these hotels has been from November 1st to March, but this winter, the period is likely to be extended to April.
