The first ten lucky winners have received the keys to their new VPO (subsidised) houses in the La Noria area of Nerja. Three houses are still pending adjudication.
The development, carried out by Emprovima, consists of 13 single-family detached VPO houses on a 1,986 square metre plot of land provided free of charge by the Nerja Council. The homes are on two floors have a basement and the total buildable area was 1,340 square metres.
Each of the 13 VPO houses has a total floor space of 122.6 meters, divided into 89.6 square metres of living accommodation (ground floor and first floor), 25 square metres of garage area and 8 square meters of storage in the basement.
All homes have three bedrooms, hall, kitchen, bathroom, dining room, laundry area and a terrace. The price of each unit is €132,680.32, excluding VAT but including parking and storage costs.
The handover ceremony was attended by the Mayor, José Alberto Armijo, and the vice-president of the Provincial Council, Miguel Esteban Martín Montero. The occasion was reportedly punctuated with much back-patting and a dig at the Zapatero administration for abolishing the Ministry of Housing and trimming 5% from the State Budget.
