Competitive tendering for public works in Andalucia has fallen, on average, by 50.6% during the first half of 2010.
Bidding for regional projects was down by 70.1%, general projects was down by 33.4% and bidding for local municipal projects was down by 42.3%.
Nationally, the worst hit areas have been Navarre, down 76.7%, Castilla y León, down by 58.1% and then Andalucia, down by 50.6%.
From January to June 2010, the Government put out contracts for public works valued at 14,521.22 million euros, down by 30.6%.
The Comunidad Valenciana, Asturias and Castilla-La Mancha are the only regions where public works contracts have increased. Valencia is up by 26.5%, Asturias and Castilla-La Mancha are both up by 0.6%.
