An unemployed malagueño, now divorced, with no money, homeless and forced to sleep on the couch at his sister’s home, is taking an unusual route to overcome his financial problems.
The man, who for obvious reasons wishes to remain anonymous, is planning to sell one of his kidneys via the internet to anyone willing to pay €50,000 to €60,000.
There is not really a market in Spain for organs, but there is in other parts of the world. According to the World Health Organisation, around 7,000 women children and men (in that order) each year sell their organs on the open market to the highest bidder.
More than 60,000 Europeans and 100,000 Americans are waiting to receive a kidney.
