The US Presidential trip to the Indian city of Mumbai looks likely to cost a pretty penny according to some reports. The cost could reach €200 million. That’s per day, not for the entire trip.
The trip involves around 3,000 people accompanying the president, from Secret Service agents to journalists, as well as increased Navy and Air Force presence in the area, umpteen national security agencies setting up sophisticated equipment in the city etc.
The visit entails the cordoning off of the entire area between the Hotel Taj, where the Obamas will be staying, to the Shikra helipad in Colaba whenever the presidential couple are on the move.
