The Guardia Civil have arrested the boyfriend of the woman found dead at her isolated home near Fuente Nueva, El Ejido, on Saturday.
Initial investigations were leading to the conclusion that a fire had started accidentally at the home and that the woman had died from smoke inhalation.
However, further investigation now leads the police to believe that the fire was started deliberately and the boyfriend, who lived at the house, has been arrested and accused of negligent homicide.
