A 38 year old man died in Marbella on Tuesday after the lorry he had parked began to roll down a slope and hit him.
The victim was the co-owner of a butane distribution yard in calle Cristo de los Molinos.
The incident occurred in the morning. The lorry had been parked but, for reasons as yet unknown, the brakes appear to have failed and the lorry began to roll down a slope.
The victim tried to get into the vehicle to stop it but was hit and gashed his leg. Using his belt, he tried to apply a tourniquet and was then assisted by a fellow worker who tried to stem the flow of blood. However, the femoral artery had been severed and he died at the scene.
