Guardia Civil officers have arrested a man in Gelves, Sevilla, for routinely abusing his elderly parents, even threatening to kill them both on a number of occasions.
The arrest occurred after a report of a domestic incident in which a 75 year old man was in a state of agitation and afraid because his son was threatening to kill him and his wife.
When the Guardia Civil officers, the son tried to make his escape, at the same time hurling abuse and threatening to kill his father for calling the police.
The son was eventually found under a bed and was taken away kicking and struggling. Once at the Guardia Civil barracks, it was discovered that the detainee had a prior record of twelve arrests for various robberies, thefts and abuse within the family.
According to the father, the son’s violent behaviour stems from his frequent demands for money from his parents who, living solely on a pension, were unable to oblige.
