A Belgian fast food firm says it will be offering customers in France a burger containing a slice of foie gras in the days leading up to Christmas.
The burgers will contain duck foie gras, beef and lettuce and will be on sale for five euros in Quick outlets across France.
Foie gras is a traditional Christmas delicacy in France, although in the south of the country it is eaten throughout the year.
Foie gras is from the liver of a duck or goose which has been specially fattened, usually by the force-feeding of corn, a practice that animal rights groups say is cruel.
