The Mayor of Rincón de la Victoria, Encarnación Anaya (PSOE), has announced a new municipal ordinance to replace the one in operation for the past ten years and which covers everything from shaking carpets on balconies to placing advertisements on cars.
The new ordinance, once approved, will cover, amongst other things:
Advertising: The distribution of propaganda or the placing of advertising material on car windscreens will not be permitted without prior permission from the municipal authorities and in all cases must not involve the fouling of public places.
The placing of posters on buildings and painted advertising slogans on the roofs of buildings will not be permitted. In the event that advertising is painted on a building or posters affixed, the owner of the building will be responsible for their removal and the subsequent cleaning.
Balconies: It will be prohibited to shake blankets, rugs or clothing over the balcony if that balcony overlooks a thoroughfare.
Balcony plants may only be watered from 00:00 to 08:00 in the winter and from 01:00 to 07:00 in the summer.
There will also be new regulations relating to the placing of tables and chairs on the streets within the town.
The ordinance also covers the traditional weekly antiques market.
The idea is to prevent degradation in the town, reduce the number of requests being made to the Council and generally smarten up the image of Rincón de la Victoria.
