The secretary general of the Association of National Service Stations, Víctor García Nebrera, has announced that petrol prices this Christmas may rise by up to five cents because of the ‘probability’ that the price of a barrel of oil will rise to $100 and because of the rate of the dollar against the euro.
The secretary general also pointed out that since 2008, when prices were at their highest, sales at service stations have dropped by 38%. Car washes have dropped by 60% in the same period and sales in the petrol station shops have fallen by around 40%.
