According to the eighth road safety report by EuroRAP, the stretch of road between Nerja and Almuñecar (the N-340 between km 296.4 in Malaga province and km 312.9 in Granada province) is once again classified as the most dangerous road in Spain.
Almost half those injured or killed on this stretch of road are motorcyclists. The report states that with better infrastructure, such as improved and less aggressive barriers and guardrails, the number of motorcycle injuries could be reduced on many roads currently classified as black spots.
