Coviran, the supermarket distributors with the most outlets in Spain, is looking to move its Andalucian base of operations from Vélez-Málaga to Casabermeja.
The cooperative intends to rent the old Cortefiel warehouse on the Cabrera industrial estate. The new facilities cover around 8,000 square metres, double their current capacity in Vélez-Málaga.
Coviran are spending €600,000 to renovate the old waehouse and hope to be able to move in March or April of 2011.
The current centre in Vélez-Málaga would likely close, although the intention is to try and keep the existing employees.
Coviran have reached an agreement to rent the old warehouse in Casabermeja for a period of five years.
