The authorities in France have detained two people believed to have been responsible for killing a Guardia Civil officer, David Lapa Ruiz, near Granada last October.
The men were amongst more than a dozen people arrested in Paris and along the French Riviera as part of an investigation into a drugs smuggling network.
Guardia Civil officer David Lapa Ruiz, aged 41 years, was killed after being hit at nearly 200 kph by a French registered vehicle. Police later found the vehicle and inside was 200 kilos of hashish, leading the authorities to begin an investigation into a possible network smuggling drugs between Morocco and France via Spain.
